Definition
Descriptive labeling refers to the use of descriptive information (e.g., name of the product, size, ingredients, use, and precautions) on labels.
This contrasts with grade labeling, in which code letters or numbers are used to describe the relative quality of goods. Grade labeling is often used with perishable or semi-perishable products such as produce, meat, and eggs.
