Demographic Environment

Definition

Demographic environment refers to the human population characteristics that surround a firm or nation and greatly affect markets. The demographic environment includes such factors as age distributions, births, deaths, immigration, marital status, sex, education, religious affiliations and geographic dispersion — characteristics often used for segmentation purposes.[1]
