Definition

Email is an online communication format that involves sending digital messages (emails) from an author to one or more recipients across the internet or other computer networks. [1]

An email address is an electronic “mailbox” to which email is delivered via the internet or other computer network. [2]

Email marketing is simply “marketing via email.” [1]

HTML email is  formatted using HTML rather than plain text. This provides more flexibility with email’s format and appearance, but not all email systems can process it.
