Variety

Definition

Variety refers to the number of different classifications of goods carried in a particular merchandising unit.

It implies generically different kinds of goods.

Variety seeking refers to the choice of an alternative in order to experience diversity or variety in consumption over time. For example, someone may drink tea with lunch one day but choose orange juice the next day specifically to get something different.
