Click and collect, also called curbside pickup or buy online, pick-up in store (BOPIS), is a model that lets shoppers purchase merchandise online and pick up their orders at a physical store, locker, or drive-up bay. It has evolved from a pandemic workaround into a mainstream fulfillment option for retailers. [1]

Research online, purchase offline (ROPO) is a modern trend in buying behavior where customers research relevant product information to qualify their buying decision before deciding to buy the chosen product in a local store. ROPO is often equated with click and collect, that is, the process of online reservation and subsequent pick-up of the product at the store. [2]
According to Capital One, 75% of consumers have researched products online before buying them in-store. [3]
The opposite of ROPO is showrooming: researching a product in a physical store before buying it online. [4]
