Brick and Mortar

Today most businesses with physical locations also have online options.

Definition

Brick-and-mortar (B&M) refers to businesses that have physical (rather than virtual or online) presences—in other words, stores built of physical material (such as bricks and mortar).

Clicks-and-mortar, bricks-and-clicks, and clicks-and-bricks are all ways of referring to a business model which integrates physical brick-and-mortar retail locations with online marketing.

Ordering pizza online is one of the earliest examples of use of the clicks-and-mortar model.
